FIRST, JUST A LITTLE BIT OF BACKGROUND ON OUR COMPANY. WE ARE A PUBLIC SECTOR CONSULTING FIRM OUT OF SPARTANBURG, SOUTH CAROLINA. WE HAVE OFFICES LOCATED ALL AROUND THE SOUTHEAST.
I'M OUT OF ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA MYSELF. WE DO HAVE A BIG FOOTPRINT, THOUGH, IN TEXAS, AND I CAN PERSONALLY ATTEST TO THAT. THIS IS MY THIRD ASSIGNMENT TO TEXAS IN THE LAST FOUR WEEKS.
IT'S GOING TO INVOLVE ABOUT 475 EMPLOYEES AND ROUGHLY 125 UNIQUE JOB TITLES.
WE HAVE A QUESTIONNAIRE THAT WE DEVELOPED ELECTRONICALLY THAT'S GOING TO ALLOW US TO DO THAT. ANOTHER THING WE'RE GOING TO BE DOING IS WE'RE GOING TO BE TAKING A LOOK INTERNALLY WITHIN THE COUNTY AT ALL THE JOBS THAT ARE PART OF THIS STUDY, AND WE'RE GOING TO MAKE SURE THAT JOBS THAT ARE SIMILAR IN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE GROUPED TOGETHER. WE'RE GOING TO RANK ALL 125 JOBS TO GIVE US THAT THAT FLOW THAT WE NEED.
SO WE'LL BE DOING A MARKET SURVEY AS WELL TO HELP WITH THAT.

WE WE PUT IN A BID. WE WON THE CONTRACT. WE'RE VERY THANKFUL TO BE HERE.
JUST GENERAL INFORMATION. NAMES, HIRE DATES, PROMOTION DATES, JOB TITLES, THINGS.
WE'RE GOING TO BE CONDUCTING OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. WE'RE GOING TO INTRODUCE THEM TO THE QUESTIONNAIRES. EXPLAIN WHY IT'S IMPORTANT FOR THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN THESE QUESTIONNAIRES SO WE CAN GET THE MOST CURRENT INFORMATION POSSIBLE DIRECTLY FROM THE SOURCE THAT KNOWS THE MOST ABOUT THESE JOBS.

SO YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE IF THERE ARE ANY ISSUES IN THAT AREA THAT WE BRING THOSE UP TO WHERE WE CAN GET THOSE FIXED, WHERE YOU'RE COMPETITIVE. SO AS FAR AS THE MARKET SURVEY GOES, WE COMPILED A LIST ALONG WITH HUMAN RESOURCES.
AND ANYBODY THAT'S ON THAT LIST, WE CONSIDER EITHER ONE OF TWO THINGS.
THEY'RE EITHER GOING TO BE A COMPETITOR, WHICH MEANS THEY'RE CLOSE ENOUGH TO THE TO THE COUNTY TO WHERE IF AN EMPLOYEE WANTED TO GO SOMEWHERE FOR A LITTLE BIT HIGHER COMPENSATION, THEY COULD JUST HOP IN THEIR CAR AND DRIVE A LITTLE BIT FURTHER TO GET THAT EXTRA COMPENSATION, OR THEY'RE GOING TO BE UP HERE, WHICH MEANS THEY'RE NOT NECESSARILY CLOSE ENOUGH TO DRIVE TO, BUT THEY'RE SIMILAR IN SIZE AND STRUCTURE, AND IT'S INFORMATION THAT WE CAN USE AS PART OF OUR MARKET SURVEY.
SO THIS HERE IS A LIST OF WHAT WE'VE COME UP WITH.
IT'S A TOTAL OF 15 AGENCIES. THERE ARE EIGHT COUNTIES OVER ON THE LEFT.
THERE'S THREE MUNICIPALITIES OVER ON THE RIGHT.

ONCE AGAIN, AT THE END OF THE DAY, WE HAVE A WORKING PLAN THAT WE CAN IMPLEMENT.
SO THAT IS MY CONCERN. AND I WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WHEN WE GET TO THE END OF THIS TIMELINE, WE ACTUALLY HAVE A PRODUCT THAT OUR FOLKS AND OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS AND DEPARTMENT HEADS CAN EASILY USE.
AND IT ACTUALLY FITS OUR COUNTY RIGHT. YES, SIR.
I'M CONFIDENT WE'LL BE ABLE TO DO THAT. AND AGAIN, THESE QUESTIONNAIRES THAT WE'RE USING ARE A BIG PART OF IT IS GOING TO BE GETTING INFORMATION DIRECTLY FROM THE EMPLOYEE. SO THEY'RE GOING TO BE INVOLVED IN THIS. WE'RE VERY TRANSPARENT ON THESE STUDIES.
